Why marketing?

As a kid, I always grew up creating. Whether it was writing books on my grandma's 2007 PC or editing videos to post on YouTube on my quest to be the next big YouTube creator, I spent my free time searching for a way to express myself through creation. Throughout high school, I also developed a huge passion for psychology, which is why I started my college years as a psychology major. However, I quickly realized that becoming a licensed psychologist was not my path. I took that passion for creativity I had as a kid, my big personality, and my love for psychology and became a marketing major.

 

And then came the work...

During my time in school, I worked as an intern for a local marketing agency and became part of the first executive board for Georgia State's Consulting Club, creating the club's first logo and first print materials. Upon graduating, I left Georgia State University with my B.B.A. in Marketing and my very first marketing job secured. I started my career at Oldcastle Infrastructure as a Marketing Coordinator in 2022. During my time as a marketing coordinator, I assisted the marketing & communications team in developing key marketing assets to aid in the planning and execution of strategic marketing plans and campaigns. Fast forward to 2 years later, I stepped into a new role on the team, managing our integrated marketing campaigns and aiding in the development of processes and procedures to help build our team's efficiency and effectiveness.
